Kim Tae-ri and Nam Joo-hyuk reminisce about summer in Twenty Five Twenty One » Dramabeans Korean drama recaps

Kim Tae Ri and Nam Joo Hyuk remember about summer in Twenty Five Twenty One

With the premiere only a few weeks away, tvN is ramping up promotions for their upcoming romance twenty five twenty one which stars Kim Tae Ri (Mr. Sunshine) And Nam Joo Hyuk (start).

The story revisits the IMF crisis in South Korea in the late 1990s, and we test the impact this had on our characters when they are still young and venturing into adulthood. Eighteen-year-old Kim Tae-ri is an aspiring fencing player, but is forced to detour on the path toward her dreams when the sport in her high school is cancelled.

Meanwhile, Nam Joo Hyuk, who is four years older than her, needs to figure out how to support himself and his family when they go from rich to poor overnight. At this point the two meet first, and the drama follows their growth as they pursue their goals, and their relationship evolves.

The newly released teaser video begins with a blue sky and white flowers, a shot taken with the hashtags: #TwentyFiveTwentyOne #NaHeedo (Kim Tae-ri’s character) and #fencingathlete. Kim Tae-ri jumps and runs enjoying the falling flower petals and the beautiful weather. She narrates the comments that appear: “Maybe because I was running or maybe because I was excited, I felt kind of short of breath. The wind blew around me and threw green leaves over my body. It was the middle of summer.”

Then we moved to a sandy beach, and this scene was captured by the hashtags as well: #TwentyFiveTwentyOne #BaekYijin (Nam Joo-hyuk’s character) and #Reporter. Nam Joo-hyuk set up his camera equipment and put on his earphones before laying in the sun and taking everything inside. Similar to Kim Tae-ri, in the voiceover, he read the accompanying comments: “The summer I felt will last forever… We met in our youth when we were most excited. That summer was ours.” When we see a family playing on the beach, Nam closes the joke with the title of the drama “Twenty Five Twenty One”.
