Here is the new Seoul Panorama where you can take pictures of beautiful landscapes of Seoul like Sebitseom and DDP.
If there’s one thing missing from my travel photos is that I can’t take selfies with the beautiful landscapes of Seoul and especially in the Han River. That’s because these spots are hard to take selfies in and dangerous unless you’re using a drone. But flying a drone in Seoul is not allowed unless it is for commercial use. You need to register and register for that.
Fortunately, Seoul recently created something to realize this dream which is the New Seoul Panorama.
What is Seoul Panorama?
According to Visit Seoul, Panorama Seoul is a free photo service that uses a 4K HD camera that captures you during your visits to some of the popular tourist destinations in Seoul by Scan QR Code in the designated image area. It’s not the usual kind of selfie you always take.
With the Panorama Seoul service, you can take your unforgettable memories with the scenic views of Seoul with you.
It started on October 26 at Sebitseom and November 12 at DDP.
Where is it located?
As of now, there are two shooting areas available at Panorama Seoul. The first is located on Septesium Island and the other one can be found in Dongdaemun Design Plaza or DDP.
On Cipitsum Island, the shooting area is located above the bridge connecting Chapitsum Island and Hangang Park. While one is located in Dongdaemun Design Plaza facing Hanyangdoseong from within the DDP grounds.
How to use Jigsaw Seoul?
- Visit the photo-area of Septium or DDP.
- Scan the QR code and click the website link.
- Click on Panorama to go to Seoul. It will direct you to visit the Seoul website where you need to log in. *I used my Naver account to log in. There are other options as well such as Kakaotalk, Facebook and Twitter.
- After login, if you can’t read Korean, you can change the language to your preferred language.
- Then tap Action Snap.
- Look at the camera installed at dock 39, pause for about 8 seconds, and wait about 30 seconds before you can download your photos and videos.
- This is! Enjoy!
Hint! Do not visit it when it is raining or windy because the quality of the pictures will not be good.
How does it look?
Panorama Seoul is available to take videos or photos as there are two photo options. You can download the far image which you can’t see by yourself at all unless you zoom in on the image, so you need to download the telephoto which is the one on the right.
Honestly, I had hoped that one day I could take an aerial photo of these places but given the location where I need to take the photo, I think I need to think about it. The other side is actually Banpo Bridge where cars, trucks and other vehicles pass. Shoot Tax Life in a nutshell. While you are in DDP, you need to go to the other building to take a panoramic photo or an aerial shot.
Sepetsium Island (세 빛섬)
This place is a cultural complex and an artificial island located on the Han River near Banpo Bridge, which was built in 2006.
There are three islands here known as Javit, Shavit and Solvet. There is another place here called Yevit which is open for cultural events only. These three islands glow brightly especially at night.
I was here during the evening last time and it looks very nice. It has highly recommended restaurants like Chavit Kitchen (buffet), Isola (Italian restaurant), and Cafe Dolce. Apart from that, Sebitseom is also the number one wedding venue and party hall on the river in Seoul.
It is actually one of the best places if you want to enjoy the view of Han River from morning till evening.

To complete this year’s final Global Seoul Mate mission, today I went to DDP with my friend Paula to try out Panorama Seoul as well. Here are the photos we got from using the photo service by scanning the QR code.
DDP is known as one of the cultural centers of Seoul because it holds many exhibitions, forums, local and international events and even fashion shows including Seoul Fashion Week.
